Barreros de San Luis is continuing their sea turtle conservation activities pioneered by local fishermen, including monitoring 11.5 km of nesting beach, constructing a hatchery, protecting nests, studying the morphometrics of the females and hatchlings, evaluating the sex ratios, and promoting citizen participation in conservation activities.
