Since 2010, Project CURMA has worked alongside local communities in the Philippines and authorities to protect endangered sea turtles. Their many accomplishments since their establishment include employing poachers as sea turtle protectors and drastically decreasing the illegal take of sea turtles and eggs, releasing thousands of baby sea turtles, involving thousands of volunteers, and engaging thousands of local fishers and community members.

With their SWOT grant, Project CURMA is expanding their education program, “The Reef Experience Initiative” a hands-on learning experience for kids hosted at the sea turtle conservation and education center.
