The SWOT Outreach Toolkit

                                                                                        (en inglés y español)

SWOT places special emphasis on inspiring conservation through outreach and awareness. Reaching far beyond the hands of conservationists, SWOT Report has made its way into schools, governments, coastal communities and the fishing industry, and into the hands of general consumers who otherwise may not have realized that their seafood choices, use of plastic bags or seaside holidays could have any effect on ocean life.

The magazine’s impact continues to grow each year, and we encourage conservationists, environmental educators, and general sea turtle enthusiasts alike to use this online Outreach Toolkit to develop sea turtle conservation awareness campaigns.

Don't forget!  SWOT Outreach Grants are available to help you implement such campaigns.

SWOT Outreach Toolkit
(Vol. II) - This SWOT Outreach Toolkit, developed in 2007, is relevant to all three issues of SWOT Report magazine, providing specific activity ideas and advice for sea turtle conservation outreach activities and raising awareness about sea turtle conservation within your local community.

Additional Outreach Tools:

  • Turning the Tide poster (The Most Threatened Sea Turtle Populations in the World, and What You Can Do to Help Them) — A fold-out brochure and poster co-produced by Conservation International, IUCN Marine Turtle Specialist Group, and ProPeninsula.

  • Great Turtle Race educational curriculum is available on the “Sea Turtle School” page of www.greatturtlerace.com. Replay the race and teach your students about leatherback turtles’ great migrations!
